How can I setup my home computer to access Xcentric Cloud?
You can access the Xcentric Cloud network and your Cloud applications from a home computer or alternate computer by installing the Citrix web plug-in on that computer. The Citrix web plug-in is a browser plug-in that is required to connect to the Xcentric Cloud Network. Installing the plug-in is a one-time process per machine and does not have to be repeated once the installation is complete.
Installing the Citrix web plug-in on a Windows computer
- Under the Featured Articles section on kb.xcentric.com, click the article titled Citrix client download.
- Click the link for the Windows client listed in the article.
- When prompted to Run or Save, click Run.
- Click Run again if prompted a second time. There is no success message at the end of the install.
- Open your Xcentric Cloud portal in your web browser and login. If you are unsure of the address of your Xcentric Cloud portal, use login.xcentric.com.
- Click the File Explorer icon to launch the application. Once File Explorer loads, you will be prompted to set security settings for the Citrix client.
- Select the Full Access and Never ask me again options then click OK. You have now completed the installation of the Citrix client and can open additional applications.
Installing the Citrix web plug-in on a Mac OSX computer
- Under the Featured Articles section on kb.xcentric.com, click the article titled Citrix client download.
- Click the link for the Mac OSX client listed in the article.
- When prompted to save the download, save it to the Desktop.
- Double-click the downloaded .DMG file that is on your desktop to open it.
- Double-click the Install Citrix Online Plug-in icon.
- Click Continue.
- Click Agree.
- Click Install.
- Enter your OSX password when prompted and click OK.
- Once the installation is complete, click Close.
- Close the Citrix Online Plug-in window.
- Drag the Citrix Online Plug-in drive (displayed on the desktop) to the Eject button on the dock.
- When notified that you're opening the Citrix Online Plug-in for the first time, click Open.
- You have now completed the installation of the Citrix client and can launch applications.
