How can I setup an RSS feed in Outlook?

This article will show you how to setup an RSS feed in Outlook 2007.  By setting up an RSS feed inside Outlook, you can be easily notified when a blog, news site, or other frequently updated content has new information.  In this example we'll setup the RSS feed for Xcentric's Blog (http://xcentric.com/feed/rss).

  1. In Outlook, click on the Tools menu and select Account Settings.
  2. Click the RSS Feeds tab.
  3. Click the New button.

  4. Enter the URL for the feed you want to add.  For example, http://xcentric.com/feed/rss is the URL for the Xcentric Blog feed.

  5. Click the Add button.
  6. Change the Feed Name if it will make it easier to identify.

  7. Click OK.
  8. Click Close. Now the feed is listed under the RSS folder in your Outlook navigation pane.

  9. To read an article, select the entry and click the View Article link displayed in the contents pane.
