How do I setup my iPad to get my mail from Xcentric Cloud?

This document will show you how to setup an iPad to work with Xcentric Cloud if the ActiveSync option has already been added to your account.

Please note that if you have not previously been setup with the ActiveSync option on your account, additional fees will apply. Please contact your Firm Administrator regarding adding the ActiveSync option to your Xcentric Cloud account.

1. Touch the Settings icon.
   
2. Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
   
3. In the Accounts section, select Add Account.
4. In the list of account types, choose Microsoft Exchange.
   
5. In the Exchange dialog box, enter the following information:
   a. Email: enter your Xcentric Cloud primary email address.
   b. Domain: leave this blank.
   c. Username: enter your Xcentric Cloud username.
   d. Password enter your Xcentric Cloud password.
   e. Description: you can leave this as the default or change it to a name of your choice.
   Once the fields have been completed, touch the Next button in the upper right-hand corner of the dialog box.
   
6. The iPad will now attempt to verify your account information.  If you receive the error Exchange account verification failed, please ignore it and continue to the next step.
7. You will be prompted to accept an Xcentric certificate.  Choose Accept to continue.
   
8. A new field appears between Email and Domain titled Server. In this field, enter mail.xcentric.com.
   
9. Touch the Next button in the upper right-hand corner of the dialog box. If any of the information was typed incorrectly, you will not be able to move past this screen.
10. The next screen asks for the information you want to synchronize with Exchange. Select from the following options: Mail, Contacts, or Calendars.
    Note: if you select Contacts or Calendars, all the contact and calendar entries currently on the iPad are deleted.
    
11. Touch the Save button in the upper right-hand corner of the dialog box.
12. Exit the settings menu by pushing the home button at the bottom of the iPad.
    
13. To access your mail, touch the Mail icon.
14. If you have setup another mail account, you will need to exit your current inboox by touching the button in the upper left a few times. The number of times will vary based on where you are within the other mail account.
    
15. You should now see all of your mail accounts. Select your Xcentric Cloud account (based on the description in step 5) to view your mailbox.
