How can I convert Prosystem fx Engagement documents to Office 2007 format?
In order to correctly convert an Office 2003 format document in a Prosystem fx Engagement binder to the Office 2007 format, you need to convert the document outside of the Engagement binder. If you attempt to convert the document from within the binder, you may experience errors in Engagement or loss of data.
According to CCH support:
"If you convert a Microsoft Word document from DOC to DOCX when you try to open the Microsoft Word document in the binder again you will receive the following error: 'Unable to open this workpaper because the file does not exist'. The reason for this is that the conversion deletes the original DOC file and replaces it with the DOCX file. Since the reference in the binder points to a DOC file, it will not find a file to open."
"In Microsoft Excel after converting a file, if any work is done in that file the next time you open the file from the binder you will notice all work after the conversion is missing. This is because the conversion leaves the XLS and the newly created XLSX in the folder. When you open the Microsoft Excel file in the binder it is pointing to the XLS file, thus you will not see the changes in the XLSX file."
